The trojan has been done away with. Now my merry internet addiction can continue. Sadly, this also means my boring, stationary computer that does no fancy tricks whatsoever, doesn’t need to immediately be replaced by a shiny new laptop that travels and does back flips. Ah well, I’m still going to buy one. Not now. But soon, my friends. Very soon.
Which brings me to the matter at hand – I must thank so many people. Life has been good for me lately and I need to acknowledge those of you who help preserve my delicate sanity (people help even more than drinking – even though I have been known to say, “A cooler a day keeps the white coats away.”)
Jason – Oh, husband. Who is, by the way, 33 years young today (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!) Hooray for the slayer of trojan viruses and the king of my heart! I cannot count the ways in which he rules, not the least of which is his ability to repeatedly bail out my technologically ignorant self. Some day I will have the time to write a proper post about all the ways that he (and his sense of humor) keep me sane. For today, one small illustration will have to suffice: One day last week after he came home from work he immediately started on dinner and the dishes. I thanked him for not being a jerk like so many other husbands I know.
The Children – Elliot is behaving as much like a human being as any two-year old can. She has had relatively few time outs and I don’t remember the last time she had an accident. Arlo has been a dream baby for the last few weeks. He is sleeping 8-9 hours straight at night. He is a happy, calming presence that I’m actually enjoying – even the boobs have stopped their complaining about him and have taken a shining to their new domestic duties.
Come to think of it, I’m really cursing the children and their good behavior. Even though it makes life much easier, it also leads to a boring blog. Cross your fingers that the kids start acting like animals soon so that I have something blog-worthy to post about.
And how could I forget – you people. This virtual community has come to mean more to me than I ever would have thought possible. When I ask for advice, you come through every time. When I admit to being a slacker, you share in the fun. When I’m upset, you let me know I’m not alone. Depending on the post, every comment I get is either thoughtful or hysterically funny. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with me. And for being well, nice. (How’s that for a segue way?)
In addition to Jess, Nell, and Cathy, Sam, and Slouching Mom have given me the Nice Matters Award.

Thanks ladies! I’ve already passed it along to a few deserving women, but I know I forgot many of you (that wasn’t very nice of me, now was it?) If you’re reading this and you haven’t received this button from anyone else, feel free to steal it – because if you’re here, you’re nice. I don’t hang with jerks. And yes, Cate, you are nice – foul language does not disqualify you. I’m proof of that.
And one more thanks goes out to Photo Shop Queen, Jenny, who gave me a Big Fat Wet Kiss Award which I would show you if the bloody code wasn’t screwing with me. You can click the link if you want to have a peek.
That’s all for now. I think I’ll go to bed – all this ass kissing has made me sleepy.

Glad that the trojan is history! And that your children are being so lovely!
And happy birthday to the hubs.
Sounds like you are having some smooth sailing. Enjoy it while it last! Happy B-day to the man!
“Elliot is behaving as much like a human being as any two-year old can.”
LOL! That is such an apt description of life with a toddler.
Congrats on the awards — you deserve them!
You deserve some smooth sailing, and I’m glad you’re back – I miss you when you don’t post every single hour, I mean day!
Oh yeah – Happy Birthday Jason!
I’ll take your sloppy seconds, I mean kisses, and put them in a box and keep them forever and ever.
Happy birthday to the man and me (mine’s tomorrow – everyone should know and send presents)!
Not to be totally tacky but I’m giving you this award too, like next week. Just so you know. You totally deserve it. You know why *wink wink*
I send shiny laptop wishes and bloggable messes your way.
Happy Birthday J! Look forward to seeing you and your lovely family next weekend. Thanks for visiting Grampy Andi – it’s makes his day!
No way. I’m all for having nothing to blog about when the parenting gig is going well.
so glad your back and Trojan-free!
did i guilt you into telling me i’m nice??
thanks! i’m so glad that it’s okay to be nice *and* foul-mouthed…
happy birthday to your hubby!
My hubby’s turning 33 today. Bizarrrrre. Congrats on being Trojan-free! I so thought you meant something else when I first read that. Oi.
