You asked to be updated about my piece I submitted for publication, so here it is – my collection of rejection letters has begun. The editor was sweet about it and apparently they have an insane amount of submissions and not a lot of publication spaces. I’m not really surprised – it would be crazy for me to expect to be published the first time around. I put a lot of work into the piece and am going to try to send it elsewhere. At least I tried…
In other, not-so-depressing news, you may have noticed I have my own dot com. That’s right – I’ve dropped the “wordpress” and am now pootandcubby.com. This makes it ever so convenient to find me and now that you have to do less typing, you can link to me more (hint hint). And no I haven’t gone self-hosted – I’m too lazy to deal with possible server crashes and design headaches (for the time-being, anyway). Also, my old links, bookmarks, and feeds will continue to work, so there’s no need to change anything on your end.
And as a treat for making it to the end of a short, but excruciatingly boring post, here’s a hilarious link I must share with you: P0rn for Women. Don’t worry – it’s not dirty, but it will make you laugh. If it doesn’t, I fear you’re dead inside.

Loralee – I’m actually still on the free WordPress, but the url redirects there so it only looks like I’m self-hosted. Maybe after BlogHer, I’ll get the cajones to do self-hosted (I do drool over the available plug-ins and other fun extras). For now, I’m too chicken.
Lilacspecs – The icons were self-generated and were an option I was fooling around with. I thought they looked kinda goofy, though, so I’ve turned them off. And Google Reader in Dutch? That does sound stressful.
Everyone – Thanks for the support – you’re the sweetest. I’m not really all that bummed – it’s to be expected. The important thing is to keep trying.
