Random blathering about blog-related matters commences now:
- As you may have noticed, I’ve been absent this week. Nothing huge, just life getting in the way of me spending some quality time with the computer. My Google Reader was getting too overwhelming so I marked all as read. If one of you wrote a kick-ass post this past week, could you please leave me a link in the comments so I won’t feel out of the loop?
- Am I the only one who’s sort of freaking out about attending BlogHer? Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited, but also nervous. Yes, I have two of the bestest roommates ever (seriously, I can’t believe I’ll be staying with these girls!) I also got a haircut (sorry, too lazy to upload a pic). I figured my awesome hair might distract people from looking at my ever-expanding gut. Oh, speaking of my gut, thank you all so much for your supportive words on my last post. I just don’t say it enough - I love you people.
- Where was I? Oh, yes. BlogHer. First, I have smallish anxiety about flying. “Smallish” meaning I will have to be completely inebriated on the flight so as not to think about my impending death for the three hours it will take me to get to San Francisco. And then, there’s the talking to people thing. Also, frightening. Word to the wise - I tend to inappropriately giggle a lot when I’m nervous. If you’re talking to someone who you think is a drunken school-girl, you’re probably talking to me.
Ooh, but look at my business card. It’s cute, right?
The real version has my actual last name. Still somewhat queasy about posting that here so I took it out for this post. Anyway, the husband kindly designed the card TWICE as the first one was eaten by the ill-fated laptop.
To re-cap:
- Most craptastic post in recent memory. Will write something real soon.
- You have homework. Please, please, if you wrote something fantastic that I missed this week, tell me about it in the comments. Also, do tell if you’re going to BlogHer and we can arrange to mutually stalk, I mean, visit, each other once I’ve stopped hyperventalating after my flight and the whole social anxiety thing has worn off. If it wears off.

Awesome roomies, indeed! I am soooooo going to have to come in and have a pillowfight or something!!!
Those are cute cards! Mine have a freaking misprint on them and there is jack I can do about it. BOO!
I will be there and will be on the lookout for you. Do you have some Xanax for the flight? I highly recommend.

Although, alcohol is great, too. Don’t worry. We’ll all be drunk within minutes of arriving. Judging from last year’s photos, BlogHer is a total boozefest.
Love your business card. The little angel looks like the top of Arlo’s favorite toy. You will have a fantastic time on your trip. I can hardly wait to hear about it.
Your business card is AWESOME!!!
I haven’t written anything worthwhile in weeks. Okay…ever.
I’ll be at BlogHer. I alternate between completely spazzing and being totally Zen. We’ll see how it pans out at the actual conference. I tend to overcompensate for others nervousness and I have a loud laugh. Maybe you should find me!?
I wrote about my alcoholic dad and best friend. Uplifting stuff! Heh. And shared some “pillow talk” between me and the Fella.
love the business card.
love your blogher roomies.
needless to say i am jealous.
you are going to have way to much fun.
The cards rock.
I did not write anything awesome, however if you want to see a great photo of Jeff and I pre-kids, travelling thru Europe, well, go check it out.
(and I’m totally with you on the social anxiety talking on the plane thing. Jeff says I have a real good bitch look though so most people are frightened away. I’ll give you a preview tomorrow).
Oh man, those are CUTE cards.
I need to re-do mine now. Oh man, I really dislike my cards now. Now I am having a panic attack.
Not going to BlogHer…which sounds like it is going to be so much fun. But I need to get going with my Blog better….and well figure out how to slap stuff up there.
I don’t think I posted anything awesome this week. Was just have a downer day and posted about that. Then random stuff…you weren’t missing much.
i’m petrified about going.
petrified of flying, too.
sigh.
adorable cards.
let’s see. i wrote a post the thursday before last (july 3rd)that wasn’t too bad.
you do have some rockin roomates. did I write anything of note last week? chances are the answer is no.
Um, I can’t even remember what I wrote last week. Isn’t that sad? Am I the only one who writes something then promptly forgets it in a day or two? Hmmmmm. So since I can’t remember my own posts, I’m gonna say they aren’t kick-ass.
I’m totally jealous of your roommates.
Have fun! The business card is too cute.
I’m kinda glad I’m off to visit my family for the next 4 weeks as I don’t look forward to all the post blogher blogging that will be going around.
Re: Needing to be inebriated to fly - is that like Mr. T having to be sedated to be put on the helicopter?
Sorry, I never really even watched the A-Team, but I still find that bit funny…
I used to enjoy flying then I had an experiance. Which while not bad at all from a normal person’s perspective, kind of flung my neuroses filled self with a dread of flying.
Stay drunk. Knit. You’ll be fine. All I blogged about was being horribly horribly ill. Nothing thrilling.
Ooh, I wrote something non-craptastic this week. And it had music that will qualm some of your BlogHer anxiety!

Look, Jennifer and I have decided that if we all stay on the same anxious loser level, then the three of us will just stick together and scowl at anyone that is clearly cooler than us. Power in numbers, right?
Sort of like 3 left turns make a right? 3 anxiety-ridden bloggers make a laid-back ultra-hip blogger. Except we aren’t really anxious. Right?
Oh, yeah, and my brother said to me today, “Yeah, you know you have sort of a ba-donka-donk, right?” Sweet. Right before BlogHer, talk about the size of my ass.
Cute cards! I have mine designed but they aren’t printed yet. They are looking very dark and moody compared to yours. Must. Rethink.
I’m growing increasingly anxious about the BlogHer. Although, my best friend is coming along for the San-Francisco-fun-of-it-all, so I don’t have roommate anxiety. I have, however, already started drinking for the flight. I think you and I will be flying out of the same airport. If there is an obnoxious drunk woman being restrained by flight attendants on your plane? Hi. That’s me.
LOVE the card.
Oh man, one day I’ll get to blogher.
Have a ball.
Love the cards. Save one for me. I’m so glad they worked out. Twice.
No stellar posts but I did go for coffee Thursday night with this knitter who giggles like a school girl. I’ll tell you all about it sometime.
I love the business card! Have fun at Blogher. I will be bored and alone and whining about everyone running off to California.
LOVE the card. love love love.
also? am ridiculously excited to meet you!
Love the card - nicely done! Mine came the other day; I am thrilled to have them.
Looking forward to meeting you.
Cute, cute cards !
So not that what I’d written is fantastic necessarily, I would just really like your two cents/ opinion on this particular post
Your grandma leaves you comments? (Well, Arlo’s grandma?) I’m so excited to see you I could pee.
People seemed to like my Superpowers of Motherhood post if you didn’t catch that.
I feel like I’m tooting my own horn. TOOT
moosh in indy. - NO, I could PEE! Commence squeeing now! I fear I’ll have to push through your throngs of fans to get to you, though. Good thing I have pointy elbows.
Oh, and it is MY grandma, not my mom, that left that comment. My grandma’s hip like that.
Love your card! Now I’m thinking about what I might have to design for next year (I am sooo going next year!)
For the flight, I recommend drinking.
You’re going to have such a great time, and I’m so envious!
This is the only decent thing I’ve written in a while…
http://thursdaydrive.com/2008/07/14/sweet-sleep/
Have fun!
Too funny!
I was just thinking that I’ve totally left my Haiku Friday up, and not bothered to post anything this week. EeEk!
You wrote everything I was pondering.
I so hope you have a great time in San Fran. How could you not with such wicked awesome roomies?!
I’ll be sort of close to you all - Vegas baby, yeah!
Hope we all make it back in one piece! I’m totally with ya on the flying thing.
100, 000, 000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000%
Write stuff?? we’re supposed to?
I wrote something back in April that was worth reading (HA!), you might’ve seen it since your BFF shared it.
Otherwise, just cute pics of the Little Man.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! that biz card. Mine sucks so bad in comparison. fer reals.
Love you and your nerdy self lots…even if I leave you in my reader and don’t stop by. i know, lame of me, sorry!
SQUEEing to meet yoU!
Of course I’m going to BlogHer - I believe we’re both members of the co-dependency crew!
I would love to be able to come too ….. just a tiny bit far I would say ….. 20 odd hours …. shit, I’ll give it a miss this year!!
Love your card …. GO and enjoy yourself ….
Just so you know, I am temporarily not talking to you. You damn BlogHer goers . . .
(Hope you had a blast, even if it was without me!)
Andi! It was so great to meet and hang out with you! I’m looking forward to getting to know you better via your blog. Adding you to my Google Reader right now…
I am so waiting for your BlogHer recap post, woman!
